Jolion Pillai Head – Business Development and Training Jolion heads the vibrant team of engineers of the Core Resource Group (C.R.G). A man with intense fore-sight and innovative ideas, he was the founder of SMEClabs and has guided the training unit through the years, through every stage of its growth. He spearheads the business development programs of SMEC Automation and has helped it maintain its position as the Leader in Marine and Industrial Automation in India. Jolion has lead the SMEC team of engineers through some of the most challenging automation jobs, including defense projects. He was a core player in the award winning project, done for the Indian Navy on-board INS Jyoti. Working in this industry since 2002, he is credited with having undertaken projects in almost all continents and having worked on all types of marine vessels and industrial projects. He is a permanent member of the IEEE and is a member of their advisory board. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Cochin University of Science and Technology.. |

Vinod Poyilath Manager – Core Resource Group Vinod has always been the driving force, behind the Core Resource Group of engineers. He is the person everyone goes to, when faced with the hardest of technical problems. He has guided and lead the Core Resource Group to be the most efficient task force of engineers in India. As a student of SMEClabs, you will get to learn from this master in automation technologies, get to know the practical problems you may face in the field and gain from the kind of knowledge which only experience can provide. Mr. Vinod also is the resource person for the widely acclaimed electrical wing of SMEC Automation, viz. SMECElectro. Vinod is a permanent IEEE member and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Calicut. |

Rajendra Kumar Sr. C.R.G. Engineer Rajendra has been the spear head of the research activities at SMEClabs over the last few years. He has been the driving force behind some of the latest technologies developed by SMEClabs, including SMECSMART™ Mooring, SMECSAILS™ Propulsion, etc. These products have revolutionized the marine automation industry and have received wide-spread acclaim and customer satisfaction. The cutting edge technologies that were developed under Rajendra's guidance, have brought a new light into the control system arena of the Indian Marine Industry. These systems have helped the ship owners reduce their down-time and increase the productivity by up to 150%. Rajendra holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has been working with SMEClabs for the last four years. Ajeesh Kumar Sr. C.R.G. Engineer Ajeesh is a well known face in the automation industry for the last few years. He has specialized in the design and implementation of control systems using SIEMENS PLCs and automation products. Jithin Felix Sr. C.R.G. Engineer Jithin is an authority in Allen-Bradley Products and has been working with SMEClabs for the last 4 years. He is one of the best known faces in the college campus training segment, having successfully conducted over three dozen courses at various colleges. He is a noted speaker and is known for the inspirational talks he has delivered at various stages, which has changed the lives of many fresh engineering graduates, who were leading a confused life without knowing what kind of career to pursue. Jijesh C. K C.R.G. Engineer Jijesh is an expert in electrical systems and industrial drives, having completed over thirty vast projects for SMEC Automation. He is currently part of the research team focusing on remote access and control of industrial drives using wireless 3G technologies. Learning under Jijesh, a student can take a dive into the core electrical concepts, especially machines and machine control drives. Jijesh has provided valuable contributions to the development of the much acclaimed SMECSMART™ Mooring technology. Tony George C.R.G. Engineer Tony is a popular figure in the Indian marine automation industry. He has headed various huge projects undertaken by SMEC Automation for various shipping companies and Indian Navy. His works on board INS Jyoti has received wide acclaim and was awarded “The Best Automation Installation for the year 2009-2010” by Indian Navy. Tony is specialized in the development and installation of iFix SCADA systems and HMIs from GE. He also undertakes research into remote access and control of systems in GSM and Transparent-Ready platforms He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University. |

Arya M.S. C.R.G. Engineer Arya is an expert in the data handling algorithms as part of automation platforms. She specializes in the development of complex data – mining algorithms and web interfaces as part of distributed control architectures. Well versed in the Transparent – Ready Platform from Schneider Electric, she uses here exceptionally good logical abilities to assist in the development of systems capable of handling Terrabytes of data per hour, for projects involving control systems that spread across whole nations including control networks spanning the North – Baltic area. Arya holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Instrumentation from the Mahatma Gandhi University and has been the awarded the “Innovator of the Year” by the Corporate Heads of SMEC Automation for the year 2009-10. |
