The OJT Program is a specialized training program conducted by SMEC Automation in association with SMEClabs – the research, development & training wing of the company. The OJT program intends to develop young engineers like you into true professionals, through a systematic learning curve, comprising of exposure to almost all the technologies involved in industrial and marine automation. The program has helped many young engineers build a successful career over the years, and is regarded as one of the most successful career start-up programs in our industry.
The program focuses on skill development with actual work experience rather than classroom-oriented training. In fact, the OJT program does not have a single day without you having your hands on an actual control panel, being built for some of the most sophisticated control systems. We intend to develop the fresher in you into a specialist service engineer of SMEC, who can handle the responsibilities associated with high profile process control and automation.

The On Job Training program developed by SMEC Automation functions in the following way :
Candidates are screened to determine the best using the following procedure:
Practical Competence Test: On-site practical session
Here the candidate will be given a task related to basic electrical engineering concepts. The candidate is required to complete the assignment in the given amount of time. The result will be evaluated on the basis of
Intelligence and Problem Solving Test: Multiple choice aptitude exam
Here the candidate is to answer a set of multiple choice questions the results of which evaluate the candidates
Candidates selected in the above areas will proceed to the final stage
Responsiveness & Character Test: Group-discussion session and interview
The selected candidates will first undergo a group discussion session which will throw light on the candidates
Selected candidates are required to make the complete payment of the training fee as agreed basis your evaluation at selection process.All-inclusive one-time payment
Following the payment, candidates become SMEC Trainees
1) If a trainee decides to discontinue the program within one month of commencement, the training fee will be returned in full
2) Fees should be paid in full before the allotted last date, and cannot be paid in installments
SMEC Trainees will undergo an exhaustive one year on the job training program at SMEC Automation. During this period they will be provided with a stipend towards their day-to-day expenses.
Marine automation training will cover all aspects of automation related electrical installations on-board ocean going vessels of different classes from tugs to ocean liners. Industrial automation training will cover all aspects of automation related electrical installations in various industries from metal production, water treatment, manufacturing units to building management systems etc. All these will be on-the-job, hands-on training exercises, where trainees will work on actual projects.
Note: In case the trainee is required to go out-of-station for any project, accommodation will be provided by the company.
After the completion of the 1 year training period, the candidates are awarded the SMEC Automation Engineer certificate/Experience letter and your performance will be evaluated and you may be inducted into SMEC Automation Pvt Ltd at the appropriate rank basis your capabilities and performance.
